Golf in Cordele

Cordele is the county seat of Crisp County in south Georgia, known as the Watermelon Capital of the World for the extensive watermelon farming in the surrounding Coastal Plain. The city sits at the junction of I-75 and US-280 and serves as a regional hub for commerce and distribution for south Georgia. Lake Blackshear, created by a dam on the Flint River near Cordele, provides recreation for the area. The Georgia Veterans Memorial Golf Course is located at the state park on Lake Blackshear's shore.
