Golf in Wells

Wells is a York County coastal community notable for the Wells National Estuarine Research Reserve, which protects thousands of acres of salt marsh, barrier beach, and upland habitat along one of the most ecologically significant shorelines in Maine. The town's extensive natural areas coexist with the beach-resort development that defines much of the Route 1 corridor between Ogunquit and Kennebunk. Wells Beach and Drakes Island Beach provide ocean swimming access, while the Laudholm Farm preserve offers trails through diverse coastal habitat. Old Marsh Country Club's 18-hole layout takes its name from the ancient marsh landscape that anchors Wells' ecological identity, situated on the inland side of the marshes that separate the resort development from the undeveloped shore.
