Golf in Wixom

Wixom is an Oakland County city in the northwestern corner of the county, a community whose Ford assembly plant history—the Wixom Assembly Plant that built Lincoln Continentals and other premium vehicles before its 2007 closure—has given way to a more diversified employment base as the converted facility hosts technology and other uses. Oakland County's western tier, where Wixom, Milford, and Lyon Township have developed significant residential and commercial character along the I-96 and M-5 corridors, represents the ongoing growth of the metropolitan area's northwestern quadrant.
