Golf in Fort Benton

Fort Benton is a Chouteau County town of genuine historical significance — the head of navigation on the upper Missouri River, a fur-trade center, and the starting point for overland routes that shaped western settlement in the nineteenth century. Signal Point Golf Course sits on the bench above the river, sharing ground with some of the most historically layered landscape in Montana. The Missouri Breaks begin just downstream, and the geological formations that Lewis and Clark described in 1805 are still recognizable from the course's elevated terrain. The historic steamboat levee and the Old Fort are walking distance from the first tee, making Fort Benton one of the most historically textured golf stops in the state.
