Golf in Conchas Dam
1 golf course in Conchas Dam, New Mexico.
Conchas Dam is a small San Miguel County settlement adjacent to Conchas Lake, a reservoir formed by a 1930s Army Corps of Engineers dam on the Canadian River at roughly 4,200 feet in the northeastern New Mexico high plains. The surrounding state park provides fishing, boating, and camping infrastructure that makes this remote area viable for recreation. Conchas Lake State Park Course provides golf alongside the reservoir, serving a largely seasonal visitor population that comes for the water recreation. The mesa-country landscape here is far removed from the canyon and mountain scenery of western New Mexico — wide, flat, and defined by the enormous high-plains sky.
