Mesquite is northeastern Clark County's golf destination, a small city in the Virgin River Valley where the terrain creates dramatic red-rock scenery and where winter temperatures mild enough for year-round play have made the city a draw for Utah visitors crossing the state line. The golf cluster here — Casablanca, Conestoga, Falcon Ridge, The Oasis's two courses, Wolf Creek, and Coyote Willows — gives visitors more layout variety than the population of roughly 20,000 would suggest. Mesquite sits at about 1,600 feet, significantly lower than the Las Vegas plateau, which keeps winter temperatures a few degrees warmer than the metro. The Virgin River Gorge to the east and the bold sandstone formations of the surrounding desert give every course here a striking landscape backdrop.
