Golf in Round Mountain

Round Mountain is a Nye County community in the Toquima Range of central Nevada, built around one of the largest open-pit gold mines in the United States. The Kinross Gold operation dominates both the landscape and the local economy. Round Mountain sits at roughly 5,600 feet amid the Basin and Range terrain of the state's interior, where the drive to the nearest significant city takes well over an hour. The nine-hole par-36 course at Fairway Boulevard provides a recreational outlet for mine workers and residents in one of Nevada's more isolated communities. The surrounding mountains and desert valleys give the course a genuinely remote character that mirrors the town itself.
