Sparks is Reno's eastern neighbor in the Truckee Meadows, incorporated separately but effectively continuous with Reno's urban fabric. The city has developed its own distinct identity through industrial and logistics-oriented development along the I-80 corridor, and rapid residential growth has pushed northward into the Wingfield Springs area. Major distribution and warehouse operations have given Sparks an economic engine somewhat separate from Reno's casino and tourism economy, and the resulting population growth has expanded recreational demand. Golf options here range from Red Hawk Golf and Resort's 36-hole twin-course operation in the north, to the more modest community layouts of Wildcreek and The Links at Kiley Ranch, to the newer D'Andrea Golf Club. The variety suits a city that serves both established industrial-corridor residents and newer planned-community inhabitants spread across a growing northern valley.
