Golf in Washoe Valley

Washoe Valley has 1 golf course — topped by Montreux Golf Course at 7,550 yards.

Washoe Valley is the high-desert basin between Reno and Carson City along the US-395 corridor, a broad open expanse at roughly 4,700 feet framed by the Virginia Range to the east and the Sierra Nevada to the west. The valley is sparsely settled — a few ranches, Washoe Lake State Park, and some rural residential properties mark a landscape that has changed little compared to the expanding suburbs on either side. Toiyabe Golf Club and Montreux Golf Course both occupy the valley, providing golf experiences defined by the open space and mountain backdrops rather than any urban context. The Toiyabe name references the long central Nevada mountain chain, though the courses here look out on the very different Sierra-Great Basin transitional terrain that defines this corridor.
