Golf in Foster
Foster has 1 golf course — 1 public.
Foster is one of Rhode Island's most rural communities, a town in the western highlands where forests cover more than ninety percent of the land area and the population density remains among the lowest in southern New England. The town was largely agricultural through the nineteenth century, but the exodus of farming families and the abandonment of marginal hill land allowed the forest to reclaim much of the cleared land. Today Foster is home to scattered residential development, conservation areas, and the former Plainfield Pike corridor that connects it to Providence. The Arcadia and George Washington Management Areas border the town's edges, adding protected land to an already green landscape.
