Golf in Niota
1 golf course in Niota, Tennessee.
Niota is a small McMinn County community in the Hiwassee River valley of southeastern Tennessee, in the Ridge and Valley terrain between Athens and the Monroe County border. McMinn County's economy has historically been industrial and agricultural, and the Hiwassee River corridor provides scenic relief in a county that is more known for its manufacturing history than its natural landscape. Niota is particularly notable as the hometown of Tennessee's first female state legislator, Harry T. Burn's mother, whose letter influenced her son's pivotal vote for the 19th Amendment in 1920. Golf in Niota serves the eastern McMinn County community in the valley setting of this relatively flat section of the Ridge and Valley province.
