Golf in Tazewell

Tazewell is the seat of Claiborne County in upper East Tennessee, a small city in the valley between Powell Mountain and Clinch Mountain in the Ridge and Valley province near the Virginia border. Claiborne County is home to Cumberland Gap National Historical Park, the pass through which thousands of settlers crossed the Appalachians into Kentucky and the Ohio Valley — a geographic chokepoint of enormous historical significance. Norris Lake's upper arms reach into Claiborne County, providing lake recreation in a county that is otherwise primarily rural and agricultural.
