Golf in Atascocita

Atascocita is an unincorporated community in northeast Harris County on Lake Houston, one of the larger unincorporated communities in the greater Houston area. The Atascocita area has grown substantially as Houston's northeast suburban expansion has reached the Lake Houston corridor, with large residential communities centered on the lake recreation opportunity. The Lake Houston reservoir was created by the Humble Dam on the San Jacinto River and is a major recreational resource for the northeast Houston area. Northeast Harris County's flat forested terrain has pines and hardwoods in a setting transitional between the coastal plain and the East Texas Piney Woods. Three courses serve the Atascocita community in the forested terrain near Lake Houston.
