Golf in Porter

Porter is a community in southeastern Montgomery County along the US 59 Northeast Freeway corridor north of Houston, in the growing suburban fringe between Houston and The Woodlands. The community has developed as a residential area for workers commuting along the US 59 corridor, with residential development in the mixed pine and hardwood forest terrain of southeastern Montgomery County. The US 59 corridor north of Houston is one of the primary growth axes for the greater Houston area, with traffic to The Woodlands and beyond. Porter is not far from Lake Houston, and the San Jacinto River corridor to the east provides some natural area. The terrain has the characteristic lowland pine and hardwood character of the southeastern Montgomery County area. Two courses serve the Porter and south Montgomery County area in the forested terrain of the US 59 corridor.
