Golf in Bonham

Bonham is the county seat of Fannin County in north-central Texas near the Red River, known as the birthplace of Sam Rayburn, Speaker of the US House of Representatives and a dominant figure in American political life for decades. Rayburn's home, library, and museum are in Bonham and attract visitors. Fannin County is in the post oak savanna and Blackland Prairie country north of the DFW Metroplex, in the Red River drainage between Dallas and Sherman. Lake Bonham and Lake Crockett provide recreation in the area. Bonham was also the seat of a county that saw significant settlement in the Republic of Texas era, and the community has connections to Texas independence-era events. One course serves the Bonham community in the post oak and Blackland Prairie terrain of Fannin County.
