Golf in Concan

Concan is a small community in Uvalde County in the southwestern Hill Country on the Frio River, a summer recreation destination known for the clear spring-fed water and cypress-lined banks. Garner State Park, one of the most popular state parks in Texas, is nearby on the Frio River and draws large crowds of summer visitors for swimming, tubing, and camping. The Frio River and the Nueces River headwaters are in this part of the Hill Country, and the spring-fed clarity of these streams is distinctive in the semi-arid landscape. Uvalde County's terrain transitions from the limestone plateau to the more arid brush country to the south and west. The community is approximately 90 miles west of San Antonio. One course serves this small Hill Country river community.
