Golf in Hutto

Hutto is a city in northern Travis County northeast of Austin, a community that has transformed from a small agricultural town to a fast-growing suburb in less than two decades, driven by the tech-sector expansion of the Austin metropolitan area. The city is known for its Hippo mascot—a hippo reportedly escaped from a circus in Hutto in the early twentieth century and was captured in a local pond, and the community adopted the hippo as its symbol. Georgetown is the county seat of Williamson County to the north, and Round Rock is the major adjacent city. The flat terrain of northeast Travis County and northern Williamson County is in the Blackland Prairie, with cotton and grain farming now giving way to residential development. One course serves the Hutto community.
