Golf in Lampasas
1 golf course in Lampasas, Texas.
Lampasas is the county seat of Lampasas County in the northern Texas Hill Country north of Austin, known for its sulphur springs and as a significant gathering point in the late nineteenth century. The springs gave the town its character as a resort community in the frontier era, and the Lampasas River runs through the community in the limestone terrain of the Edwards Plateau. Lampasas County is in the transition between the Hill Country and the Blackland Prairie, with the Lampasas River draining northward toward the Colorado River system. The community is approximately 70 miles northwest of Austin and is the commercial hub for a rural Hill Country county. Fort Gates, an early Army post, was near the present-day community in the 1840s. The limestone plateau terrain and the spring-fed river give Lampasas a distinct Hill Country character. One course serves the Lampasas community in the limestone terrain of the Hill Country edge.
