Golf in Montgomery

Montgomery is a city in northern Montgomery County on Lake Conroe, part of the resort and residential landscape along the lake's north and east shores. Montgomery County overall is one of the fastest-growing counties in Texas, and the Lake Conroe area has been a center for resort and retirement residential development. The community has one of the higher concentrations of golf courses of any Texas community, with eight courses in the area reflecting the resort community character of the Lake Conroe corridor. The West Fork of the San Jacinto River forms Lake Conroe, and the Sam Houston National Forest to the north provides a natural backdrop for the lake communities. The forested terrain of northern Montgomery County has tall pines and hardwoods, distinguishing the setting from the flat southern part of the county near Houston. Eight courses serve the Montgomery area community in the forested terrain along Lake Conroe.
