Golf in Willis

Willis is a small city in northern Montgomery County at the upper end of the Lake Conroe corridor, in the pine and hardwood forest country near the Sam Houston National Forest. The community is on the I-45 North corridor between Conroe and Huntsville, at the northern edge of the Lake Conroe resort area. The Sam Houston National Forest begins north and west of Willis, providing a forested natural area that extends into Walker County. Willis has grown as the Lake Conroe area has expanded northward along the I-45 corridor. The pine and hardwood forest of northern Montgomery County gives the Willis area a wooded character typical of the East Texas Piney Woods transition zone. One course serves the Willis area in the forested terrain of northern Montgomery County.
