Raymondville is the county seat of Willacy County at the southern tip of Texas near the Laguna Madre, in the flat subtropical terrain of the lower Rio Grande country. Willacy County is south and east of the main Rio Grande Valley cities, bordering the Laguna Madre and the Padre Island National Seashore corridor. The county has a predominantly Hispanic population and a small economy based on agriculture, the county seat services, and some energy production.
