Golf in Harlingen

Harlingen is one of the four main cities of the Rio Grande Valley in Cameron County, serving as a healthcare hub for the Valley and a commercial center for the mid-Valley area. Valley Baptist Medical Center and Rio Grande Regional Hospital are among the healthcare facilities that have made Harlingen the medical center for the lower Rio Grande Valley. The city has a significant winter visitor population—known as Winter Texans—who migrate from colder climates to enjoy the subtropical weather. The flat terrain of southern Cameron County at sea level has subtropical vegetation and year-round warm temperatures suitable for outdoor recreation in all seasons.
