Spring Branch is a small community in Comal County in the Texas Hill Country on the Guadalupe River north of New Braunfels, in the limestone and cedar terrain of the Edwards Plateau. The community attracts resort and retirement residential development in the Hill Country setting of the Guadalupe River valley. Comal County as a whole has grown rapidly as the San Antonio metropolitan area has expanded northward into the Hill Country corridor. The Guadalupe River is spring-fed and runs clear, making it a sought-after setting for residential and resort development. The terrain is limestone plateau with cedar, live oak, and the river corridor providing the defining character. Spring Branch is approximately 30 miles north of San Antonio on the SH 46 and US 281 corridors. Two courses serve the Spring Branch area in the limestone and cedar terrain of the upper Guadalupe River corridor.
