Golf in Tyler

Tyler is the county seat of Smith County in East Texas and the largest city in the Piney Woods region, known as the Rose Capital of America for its extensive rose-growing industry—Smith County produces roughly one-fifth of all commercially grown roses in the United States. The Tyler Rose Garden and the Texas Rose Festival draw visitors each October. The city serves as the commercial, medical, and cultural hub for a large East Texas region including the Piney Woods, the oil country, and the lake districts. The University of Texas at Tyler and the Tyler Junior College contribute to the community's educational offerings. Five courses serve the Tyler community in the forested pine and hardwood terrain of Smith County.
