Holladay is a small Salt Lake County city on the eastern bench, between Millcreek and the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon. The city's residential neighborhoods are established and tree-lined, with a character shaped by decades of stable single-family housing development on the valley's mid-elevation bench. The Big Cottonwood Canyon corridor — leading to Solitude and Brighton ski resorts — passes through the eastern edge of the Holladay community, giving residents ski-resort access that most Salt Lake Valley communities lack. Old Mill Golf Course takes its name from the historic milling operations that once processed grain and timber along Big Cottonwood Creek before subdivision transformed the area.
