Golf in Monticello

Monticello is the seat of San Juan County, the largest county in Utah by area and one of the most geographically remote county seats in the lower 48. The city sits at 7,050 feet in the Abajo Mountains foothills, giving it a piney, high-country character unlike the canyon-floor settlements nearby. San Juan County encompasses Bears Ears National Monument, Natural Bridges National Monument, and portions of the canyon country that extends into Colorado and New Mexico — a vast and largely roadless expanse. The Hideout Golf Club provides recreational golf in a county that has relatively few population centers and long distances between services.
