Golf in Lusk

Lusk is the Niobrara County seat, one of Wyoming's smallest county seats, serving the ranching and oil-production communities of the Nebraska border country. The town's historical stagecoach and Cheyenne-Deadwood Trail heritage connects it to the frontier period of Wyoming's settlement, and the stagecoach routes that passed through Lusk carried passengers and gold between Cheyenne and the Black Hills in the 1870s and 1880s. Niobrara County's sparse population and the vast distances between communities make Lusk's role as county seat essential for the provision of government services to a genuinely remote area. The Stagecoach Museum in Lusk preserves artifacts from the Cheyenne-Deadwood Trail, including one of the original Concord coaches used to transport passengers and gold through Wyoming in the post-Civil War era.
