Golf in Guernsey

Guernsey is a small Platte County community on the North Platte River, most famous for the Oregon Trail ruts carved into the sandstone bluffs just outside of town — one of the most evocative physical remnants of the great nineteenth-century westward migration. Guernsey State Park, with its WPA-era stone structures and North Platte reservoir, provides camping, boating, and swimming for the surrounding community. The town's location on the emigrant trail has given it a historical identity that belies its small size, and Register Cliff — where thousands of emigrants carved their names in the sandstone — preserves an extraordinary record of individual journeys west.
