Alta Sierra Country Club is in Alta Sierra, Nevada County, in the Sierra Nevada foothills above Grass Valley. Alta Sierra is a small community on a wooded ridge above the South Yuba River canyon, in the Gold Country terrain that stretches along the western Sierra grade between Auburn and Nevada City.
