Bell Gardens is a small city in Los Angeles County southeast of downtown Los Angeles, in the southeast gateway cities zone. The city occupies flat urban terrain in the densely developed southeastern Los Angeles area. Los Angeles County's gateway cities, including Bell Gardens, South Gate, and Downey, are a cluster of smaller municipalities in the southeastern portion of the county. The city has a primarily residential character with commercial corridors along Eastern Avenue and Florence Avenue. The Bicycle Casino, a large card room, is a significant employer and entertainment venue in the city. Interstate 710 and Interstate 5 are accessible from the city. The city has a predominantly Hispanic residential population.
