Golf in Blacklake

Blacklake is an area in San Luis Obispo County in the Nipomo Mesa region, in the southern portion of the county near the Santa Barbara County line. The area occupies the broad, elevated terrain of the Nipomo Mesa, a coastal terrace above the Santa Maria Valley. San Luis Obispo County's southern communities on the Nipomo Mesa include Nipomo itself and surrounding residential and agricultural areas. The mesa terrain supports some sand dune areas on the coast and residential and agricultural uses further inland. The area is accessible from US Highway 101, which runs along the eastern edge of the mesa. The Santa Maria River marks the county boundary between San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties a few miles to the south. The Nipomo Mesa has attracted some residential growth as a less expensive alternative to the higher-priced central San Luis Obispo County communities.
