Golf in Callender

Callender is a small area in San Luis Obispo County in the southern portion of the county, in the Nipomo area near the Oceano communities. The area occupies rural terrain on or near the Nipomo Mesa, where the coastal terrace of southern San Luis Obispo County extends between the Santa Ynez Mountains foothills and the Pacific. San Luis Obispo County's southern communities have a mix of agricultural, residential, and some commercial land uses in the Nipomo area. The area has very limited commercial services and functions within the context of the broader Nipomo Mesa development zone. US Highway 101 provides the main highway connection through the county's southern corridor. The surrounding landscape has sage scrub, grassland, and agricultural land occupying the mesa terrain.
