Golf in Brooks

Brooks is a small community in Yolo County in the lower Coast Range foothills, in the narrow Capay Valley corridor northwest of the main Sacramento Valley floor. Cache Creek runs through the Capay Valley in this area, providing irrigation water for farms in the narrow valley. Brooks is primarily agricultural, with a very small permanent population and limited commercial activity. The Cache Creek Casino and Resort is nearby and serves as a significant employer and visitor destination in this part of Yolo County. Yolo County extends from the Sacramento River lowlands westward into the Coast Range, and the Capay Valley represents the county's western agricultural corridor. The community is accessible from County Road 16, which connects the Capay Valley to Woodland and Interstate 5 to the east. The valley setting provides a distinct character from the flat Sacramento Valley floor that makes up most of Yolo County.
