Golf in Woodland

Woodland is the county seat of Yolo County in the Sacramento Valley, northwest of Sacramento along State Route 113 and Interstate 5. The city functions as the administrative and commercial hub for Yolo County, one of California's primary agricultural counties. The local economy is anchored by agriculture, government services, retail, and healthcare, with the Woodland Memorial Hospital a regional medical center. Yolo County's farmland surrounds Woodland on most sides, with tomatoes, rice, sunflowers, and other row crops filling the flat valley landscape through the growing season. The city has a compact traditional downtown and has grown with residential development as Sacramento area residents seek less expensive housing options. Cache Creek, north of the city, and the Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area to the east provide open space and wildlife habitat in the otherwise intensively farmed landscape. Interstate 5 provides the main north-south highway connection.
