Golf in Camp Pendleton Mainside

Camp Pendleton is a large US Marine Corps installation in the northwestern portion of San Diego County, along the Pacific coast between Oceanside and San Clemente. The base occupies a broad coastal area of approximately 125,000 acres, making it one of the largest military installations in the country. San Diego County's military presence is substantial, and Camp Pendleton is among the largest bases, providing training facilities and housing for a large Marine Corps population. The base encompasses coastal terrain, inland valleys, mountain terrain, and the Santa Margarita River corridor. The mainside area includes the main administrative and residential facilities. Interstate 5 passes through the base, with exits for the main gate providing access to the installation. The surrounding lands within the base are largely undeveloped.
