Golf in El Macero

El Macero is a small residential community in Yolo County between Davis and Woodland, in the Sacramento Valley. The community sits along the Sacramento River corridor in flat agricultural terrain typical of the central Sacramento Valley floor. Yolo County's communities along the Highway 113 and Interstate 80 corridors have a semi-rural character, with agricultural land dominant and the Sacramento metropolitan area accessible to the east. El Macero is primarily a residential enclave with limited commercial services, and residents commute to Davis, Sacramento, or Woodland for employment and shopping. The Sacramento River runs along the eastern edge of this portion of Yolo County, forming the county line with Sacramento County. The flat, open character of the Sacramento Valley is evident around El Macero, with tomato fields, sunflowers, and other row crops making up much of the surrounding agricultural land through the growing season.
