Golf in Lake Don Pedro

Lake Don Pedro is a community in the lower Sierra Nevada foothills in the area where Merced and Tuolumne counties share a border, east of the Central Valley. The community is associated with Lake Don Pedro, a reservoir on the Tuolumne River. The surrounding terrain consists of oak woodland and foothill grassland typical of the western Sierra foothills at elevations between 500 and 1,500 feet. Lake Don Pedro attracts recreation visitors for boating, fishing, and camping, and the community includes both full-time residents and vacation properties. Highway 132 and local roads connect the area to Modesto and Turlock to the west and to Sonora and the Tuolumne County foothills to the east. Merced County's foothill communities are less developed than those in Tuolumne County further east, giving the Lake Don Pedro area a relatively quiet, rural character in a reservoir and foothill setting.
