Golf in Lake Forest

Lake Forest is a city in Orange County in the south county area, east of El Toro and north of Mission Viejo. The city occupies the El Toro and Saddleback Valley area, where the terrain transitions between the coastal plain and the foothills of the Santa Ana Mountains. Orange County's south county cities, including Lake Forest, were largely developed on former agricultural land in the postwar decades. The city has a mixed residential and commercial character, with the Portola Hills area providing newer residential development on the eastern foothill terrain. The former El Toro Marine Corps Air Station has been partially redeveloped, with portions now accommodating commercial and residential uses. Interstate 5 and El Toro Road provide the main highway and local connections.
