Golf in Palo Cedro
1 golf course in Palo Cedro, California.
Palo Cedro is a small community in Shasta County, east of Redding in the upper Sacramento Valley where the valley floor transitions toward the foothills approaching the Lassen Volcanic region. The community is primarily residential and agricultural, with surrounding land used for cattle ranching and dry farming typical of the Shasta County foothills. Redding, the county seat and regional hub, lies to the west along State Route 44, which connects Palo Cedro to the interstate highway network. The elevation at Palo Cedro is somewhat higher than at Redding on the valley floor, giving the community a slightly cooler summer climate. Shasta County's foothill communities have attracted residents who seek a rural setting within commuting distance of Redding's employment and services. The terrain east of the community rises into the Shasta Cascade highlands, which include Lassen Volcanic National Park further to the east along Highway 44.
