Golf in Weaverville

Weaverville is the county seat of Trinity County in the Klamath Mountains of northwestern California. The city sits in a broad river valley at roughly 2,000 feet elevation, where the Trinity River runs through the county center before flowing west toward the Klamath River system. Trinity County is among the most heavily forested counties in California and has few incorporated communities beyond Weaverville itself. The local economy depends on timber and public lands employment, as large portions of the county are managed by the US Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management. Weaverville serves as the commercial and administrative center for a sparse population spread across mountainous terrain. State Route 299 connects the city to Redding to the east and to the Humboldt coast to the west. The compact downtown retains a character consistent with its role as a remote county seat in rugged mountain terrain.
