Golf in Silver Lakes

Silver Lakes is a community in San Bernardino County in the Mojave Desert, northeast of Barstow near Helendale along US Highway 395. The community occupies desert terrain at roughly 2,800 feet elevation in the Mojave, with the Mojave River running through the area. San Bernardino County's desert communities along Highway 395, including Silver Lakes, are primarily residential developments in the high desert. The community is centered on a pair of artificial lakes that serve as recreational amenities in the dry desert environment. The surrounding terrain is typical Mojave Desert, with creosote scrub, Joshua trees, and sparse vegetation of the high desert. US Highway 395 provides the main highway connection north toward Victorville and south toward Barstow. The community is a residential enclave in the otherwise sparsely populated central Mojave.
