Golf in Riceboro

Riceboro is a small community in Liberty County on the Georgia coast south of Savannah. The name reflects the antebellum rice plantations that once dominated the coastal Georgia tidal flatlands, where the Midway River and other coastal rivers were dammed and diked to create rice paddies worked by enslaved laborers. Liberty County today is shaped primarily by Fort Stewart, and its coastal plain landscape of estuarine rivers, sea island geography, and pine flatwoods retains the character of the Georgia Coastal Plain.
