Golf in Saint Simons Island

Saint Simons Island is the most developed and populous of the Golden Isles, a chain of Georgia barrier islands off the coast of Glynn County connected to the mainland by the F.J. Torras Causeway. The island combines beaches, maritime oak forest, a historic lighthouse, Fort Frederica National Monument (commemorating a 1742 battle decisive in establishing British colonial control of Georgia), and a variety of residential and resort developments. Four golf courses on the island reflect the long tradition of golf in the Golden Isles, where Sea Island has hosted major events and the resort culture has always emphasized golf as a central amenity.
