Golf in Middletown

Middletown is a Frederick County town in the Middletown Valley, a broad agricultural plain between South Mountain to the west and Catoctin Mountain to the east—one of the most topographically dramatic and historically significant landscapes in Maryland. The 1862 Battle of South Mountain was fought on the ridge above, and Confederate forces retreated through this valley after Antietam.
