Golf in Poland

Poland is an Androscoggin County community in the Oxford Hills, best known as the location of the Poland Spring mineral spring whose bottled water made this corner of Maine famous in the 19th-century health-spring culture. Poland Spring Resort, set on the historic spring grounds, has operated in various forms since that era and continues as a wedding and conference venue. The Ricker family's development of Poland Spring as a destination resort in the late 19th century drew presidents and celebrities to this corner of Maine. Fairlawn Golf Course provides 18 holes in a community with a strong recreational tradition, surrounded by the lake country that characterizes the transition between the Portland suburbs and the Sebago Lake region.
