Golf in West Wendover

West Wendover straddles the Nevada-Utah border on Interstate 80, existing in significant part because of the legal contrast between the two states. Residents of Salt Lake City and the Wasatch Front, denied casino gambling at home, have made West Wendover a weekend destination for decades — the casino hotels that line the Nevada side of the border are visible from the salt flats on the Utah side. The Bonneville Salt Flats, where land speed records have been set for more than a century, stretch east into Utah just beyond the city limits. Toana Vista Golf Course at par 72 provides an 18-hole recreational option that gives visitors a reason to stay beyond the casinos.
