Golf in Barton Creek

Barton Creek is a residential and resort community in Travis County west of Austin, in the limestone Hill Country terrain above the Barton Creek drainage. The Barton Creek Resort and its multiple golf courses have made this area one of the leading golf destinations in central Texas, with the resort hosting major professional and amateur events over the years. The area is in the Texas Hill Country at the western edge of Austin's urban development, where the limestone plateau and the cedar-oak woodland provide a setting distinct from the urban landscape to the east. Barton Creek itself is a major creek draining the western Travis County plateau into Lady Bird Lake. The resort complex includes lodging, conference facilities, and a spa alongside the golf operation. Five courses serve the Barton Creek community.
