Golf in Floydada

Floydada is the county seat of Floyd County on the Llano Estacado of the Texas South Plains, in the cotton and grain farming country south of Lubbock. Floyd County is one of the agricultural counties on the flat High Plains, dependent on irrigation from the Ogallala Aquifer for the cotton, grain, and produce farming that dominate the county's economy. Floydada calls itself the Pumpkin Capital of the United States for the significant pumpkin production in the county. The flat terrain of the Llano Estacado at roughly 3,100 feet elevation has a semi-arid climate with hot summers and occasional severe weather. The community is approximately 40 miles northeast of Lubbock on US 70. One course serves the Floydada community in the flat, semi-arid terrain of the South Plains.
