Golf in Plainview

Plainview is the county seat of Hale County on the Llano Estacado north of Lubbock, a cotton farming and feedlot community on the flat South Plains. Hale County is one of the leading cotton-producing counties in Texas, with extensive irrigation from the Ogallala Aquifer supporting the intensive agriculture. Wayland Baptist University is in Plainview and provides an educational anchor for the South Plains community. The community is approximately 45 miles north of Lubbock on US 27 and is the commercial hub for Hale County. The flat terrain of the Llano Estacado at roughly 3,300 feet elevation extends in all directions, with the characteristic High Plains landscape of irrigated fields and native grasses. One course serves the Plainview community in the flat, irrigated plains of Hale County.
