Golf in Jacksboro

Jacksboro is the county seat of Jack County northwest of Fort Worth in the Cross Timbers, a small ranching community at the edge of the plains country. The area has connections to the frontier era of north Texas, and Fort Richardson State Park preserves the remains of one of the frontier military posts garrisoned to guard settlers in the 1860s and 1870s. Jack County is in the Cross Timbers west of the Metroplex, with cedar, live oak, and mesquite on the gently varied terrain. The community serves the agricultural and ranching population of the county and is the commercial hub for a rural area.
